Before Your Appointment
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and other blood-thinning medications for 5–7 days prior, unless medically contraindicated — confirm with Dr. Fong at consultation
Arrive well-hydrated; adequate hydration improves the blood draw process

During the Procedure
Blood Draw
A small blood sample is taken from your arm — similar to a routine lab test. This step takes approximately 5–10 minutes.
PRP Preparation
Your blood sample is centrifuged using a Health Canada-licensed device to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. This takes approximately 15 minutes.
Topical Anaesthesia
A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area and allowed to take effect. Most patients report mild pressure rather than significant discomfort during the procedure.
PRP Injection
Dr. Fong injects the prepared PRP into the anatomically targeted sites. The injection portion of the procedure takes approximately 10–15 minutes.
After Your Appointment
Most patients return to normal daily activities the same day; strenuous exercise may be avoided for 24 hours at your physician's discretion
Mild tenderness or minor spotting in the 24 hours following treatment is possible; if symptoms persist or worsen, contact the clinic

Is the O-Shot® painful?+

Some mild tenderness at the injection site for a few hours after the procedure is possible. How long before I notice results?+

Can the O-Shot® treat urinary incontinence?+
The O-Shot® is primarily indicated for stress urinary incontinence — leakage associated with physical activity such as coughing, sneezing, or exercise. Clinical observations suggest many patients report meaningful improvement, though individual response varies. It is not a surgical intervention and does not replace pelvic floor physiotherapy or other appropriate medical management. Dr. Fong may recommend combining the O-Shot® with Emsella for a more comprehensive approach.
Is autologous PRP safe? What are the risks?+
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or immune rejection is considered minimal. As with any injection procedure, there are inherent risks including localized bruising, mild swelling, or infection, though these are uncommon with proper sterile technique. Dr. Fong will review your full medical history and current medications at consultation to confirm suitability and discuss any individual risk factors.
